Who can look at my credit report?

 
 

Lenders that you apply for credit with will perform a credit check to determine whether or not to lend credit to you, this could be for things like credit cards, loans, insurance or even a bank accounts. Other than lenders, Landlords and employers can look at the ‘public’ information on your credit report, such as court judgments, bankruptcy orders and IVAs. Someone that you have given written authorisation can also obtain your credit report.

Is Bankruptcy Right For You?

To be sequestrated you must owe at least £1,500 and either: one or more of your creditors must have taken you to court to enforce or demand you repay a debt or you must have been on a debt payment programme under DAS that has been revoked and one of the creditors in the DPP have been to court and obtained a decree on one of the debts.
